Packaging design for Kalli Café coffee beans
Following the creation of their logo, I designed the coffee bean packaging for Kalli Café, aligning the visual with their brand identity and core values: a balance of modernity, quality, and artisanal tradition.

Objective of the design
Understanding Kalli Café’s values, identity and audience:
Kalli Café brings together Syrian coffee heritage and a modern touch. Using premium Arabica beans from small farms and traditional Syrian methods, the brand speaks to a quality-conscious audience: people who appreciate both the richness of tradition and a contemporary experience, marked by a distinctive taste and a modern identity.

Why create an illustrated package design:
- To reflect the brand’s identity:
Kalli comes from calligraphy and Kalli Café has already an illustrated logo. - To stand out visually:
Illustration makes the package more unique and eye-catching.
- To tell a story:
It helps create a deeper emotional connection with the customer. - To be memorable:
A strong image helps people recognize and remember the brand.

Concept development
Concept: Stylized coffee farm landscape
I wanted to create a stylized illustration using the bold colors of Kalli Café’s visual identity, to bring a modern touch while staying connected to nature. At first, I wasn’t sure whether to focus on coffee leaves, coffee cherries, or the entire landscape, but after a few sketches, I found the fields to be more unique and visually pleasing as a composition. I still included the leaves and cherries clearly, to keep the illustration colorful and uplifting.

What inspired this design:
Nature, minimalism, modernity.
Aesthetics:
I aimed for a geometric yet elegant style, with clear, readable elements and a central space for the logo to stand out. A calm landscape with strong horizon lines and guiding shapes felt like the right choice to support that balance. I used black, especially for shadows and on both sides of the package, to soften the brighter colors and add a refined touch. On the back, the landscape continues, taking up less space to create a peaceful atmosphere and maintain visual harmony.
