Children’s Book – Workshop

I created this visual for a workshop about children’s books at La Maison des Artistes Gallery in Beirut.
The workshop is about graphic style, trends, the publishing journey and how to create a children’s book cover. Since coming to Europe, I discovered the vast world of children’s book illustration, which has its own very specific rules. It is not enough to know how to draw cute characters to get published, you need to have a defined style that fits with what a particular publishing house is already putting out. You also need to know how to find your publisher and how to present your work. That’s where the book cover comes in: it is much more than a summary of the story, it is the critical moment that decides whether or not your book will be read.
